Gallatin AI Completes $15M Seed Round
Gallatin AI, a defense technology company seeking to improve military logistics by using AI, has successfully raised $15 million in seed funding. Incubated through 8VC's Build program, Gallatin’s AI-native platform, Navigator, supports military logisticians' capacity to predict, plan, and execute complex operations, especially in contested environments. The round was led by 8VC, joined by Silent Ventures, Moonshots Capital, Timeless Partners, and Banter Capital.
Nvidia Acquires Synthetic AI Data Startup Gretel
Nvidia has acquired Gretel, a startup that’s developed a platform to generate synthetic AI training data for government and commercial customers. Terms of the acquisition are unknown, but according to Wired, exceeded Gretel’s recent valuation of $320M.
Gretel was founded by Alex Watson, Laszlo Bock, John Myers, and Ali Golshan. According to Crunchbase, Gretel had raised more than $67M from investors, including Anthos Capital, Greylock, and Moonshots Capital.
Dataminr Raises $85M in Convertible Debt
Dataminr, a dual-use data analytics company, has raised $85 million in financing. The capital will be used to fund Dataminr’s international expansion and new product development. The round was led by NightDragon and HSBC and did not set a valuation. As part of the deal, NightDragon also created a special-purpose vehicle (SPV) for an additional $100 million in convertible financing from the VC’s affiliates and partners.
